Albers Foundation Artist Residency.

I have been given an incredible opportunity to immerse myself in a 2 month creative residency at the prestigious Albers Foundation, Bethany, Connecticut.

My few seconds of fame on BBC4!

We had the pleasure of welcoming Alex Harding, from the BBC, and his crew into our Textile Department earlier this year.
Myself and a few of my lovely weave students had our few seconds of fame.
The engaging short documentary Anni Albers: A Life in Thread is currently on BBC Iplayer, definitely worth a watch!

Anni Albers Exhibition Review

Journal for Weavers Spinner & Dyes, 269. Spring 2019
Exhibition Review - Complied by Hilary Millar.

It was a treat to come across a mini mention in a lovely article written by Hilary Millar;  "The eleventh room, we returned full circle to the studio, with samples of yarn and fabric (woven by Louise Renae Anderson) available to handle. This was a great relief to the textile enthusiast but also reinforced the frustration and difficulty of fully engaging with textiles in a museum setting " Millar, pg30.

a-n Artist Bursary Award 2019

A big thank you to a-n The Artist Information Company for awarding me an artist bursary. This bursary is toward a new project which involves skills sharing and collaborating with craftspeople who are working in other  forms of woven construction. I look forward to starting!

Shortlisted for HCA Maker of the Year

I was recently one of three Crafts People shortlisted for the Heritage Craft Associations 'Maker of the Year Award' where I attended their great conference titled 'Making is Good for You'.  What a brilliant topic and one I most definitely believe in! Award.https://heritagecrafts.org.uk/winners-of-the-2019-heritage-crafts-awards/

A Tate Modern Commission!

Its been a wonderfully busy month working with the fab curators, Ann Coxon, Briony Fer and Pryiesh Mistry, of the current Anni Albers Exhibition.  Firstly to loan and set up my lovely old countermarch loom which sits in the entrance to the exhibition.  Who new I'd have the opportunity to sit and weave in the Tate Modern! Secondly a commission of woven samples which is an exploration of hand weaving through design, material and structure, inspired by Anni Albers works.  My commissioned works can be seen and handled in the final room of the exhibition.

Was an exceptionally inspiring and enjoyable experience all-round, and is a brilliant exhibition of Anni Albers works.

'Blue' @ The Devon Guild of Craftsmen

I've recently visited the Devon Guild of Craftsmen for the first time to catch my work in the Flow Gallery touring exhibition 'Blue'.  The Devon Guild is a lovely venue and the exhibition was curated well. I'll definitely keep a look out as to whats on here in the future. Below are a few photos of the work I exhibited.
