Its been a wonderfully busy month working with the fab curators, Ann Coxon, Briony Fer and Pryiesh Mistry, of the current Anni Albers Exhibition. Firstly to loan and set up my lovely old countermarch loom which sits in the entrance to the exhibition. Who new I'd have the opportunity to sit and weave in the Tate Modern! Secondly a commission of woven samples which is an exploration of hand weaving through design, material and structure, inspired by Anni Albers works. My commissioned works can be seen and handled in the final room of the exhibition. Was an exceptionally inspiring and enjoyable experience all-round, and is a brilliant exhibition of Anni Albers works. Copyright © Louise Renae Anderson 2019. All rights reserved.

I have been awarded a grant from the Theo Moorman Trust for Weavers 2012-13. This has given me the opportunity to undertake a project with the aim to create Contemporary Handcrafted Loom-Woven Garments. I wanted to tackle the challenge of weaving a complete garment on the loom and for some time now I have wanted to combine my craftsmanship skills in both Textiles and Fashion into a new project. Here is a taster of how its going... Come and see my work at Contemporary Applied Arts alongside the 'domesticMATTERS' Exhibition during London Design Festival 7th Sept - 20th Oct 2012. Here I will be exhibiting my Linen & Black series as one of three focus artists.
http://www.caa.org.uk/exhibitions/archive/2012/domesticmatters.html I've recently visited the Devon Guild of Craftsmen for the first time to catch my work in the Flow Gallery touring exhibition 'Blue'. The Devon Guild is a lovely venue and the exhibition was curated well. I'll definitely keep a look out as to whats on here in the future. Below are a few photos of the work I exhibited.
